- The Indochinese tiger is endangered because of human intervention.
- Destruction of their habitats through human modernization (i.e. construction of roads) as well as poaching have threatened their numbers to near extinction.
- Indochinese tigers have also suffered from low prey density in some habitats due to poaching.
- Tigers are valued for their pelts, and eyes, which are believed to fight epilepsy and malaria.
- As of 2010 there were an estimated 350 individuals in the wild, but as of 2015, there were an estimated 650 individuals in the wild.
- All tigers could possibly go extinct in the wild within the next decade.
- The WWF is working to preserve tiger habitats and improve their conditions to help sustain the Indochinese tiger and develop protected areas.
